If you don’t feel like the best version of yourself, or your life isn’t going the way you would like, I’d love to work with you! More than likely, I want you to erase whatever negative idea you have about counseling from your mind. My job isn’t to give you advice, to be your friend or to have you lay on a couch and talk about your mom 😉 My job is to help you in the way you need me to, and if I’m not the right fit for you then my job is to help you find someone else that is a better fit for your current needs. If you are seeking counseling, I want to help you find what you need. We all have times when we just need someone to be on our side, or listen without any judgment. As my client you get to teach me about yourself and what you need. I enjoy getting to know my clients – What are your goals? What kind of a person would you like to be? How can your life be better? I will use my counseling skills, my education and training, books I’ve read and my experiences to help you, and together we will work to discover what you need to help yourself. My job is to walk alongside you, provide a listening ear and an objective perspective so that you can decrease your anxiety, improve communication in your relationship, and start to see the glass as half full and enjoy life a little more. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master’s of Education in Counseling and have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor as well as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and a Child Centered Play Therapist-Supervisor. I am certified in the PREPARE/ENRICH counseling program and a Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coach. I have been a school counselor and have been teaching various courses including psychology and counseling, for over 12 years. I saw my first client nearly 15 years ago and am looking forward to many more years of counseling.
