My name is Jennifer Montoya. I am a graduate-level practicum student pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University. I am an active member of Chi Sigma Iota Upsilon Chapter, the National Honor Society, for my academic achievements and philanthropy efforts.
Additionally, I have been a volunteer youth leader at my church for the last 8 years. I am passionate about serving children and youth in the ministry by creating strong bonds and a safe place for them to be themselves.
One of the most important aspects in my opinion is the therapeutic relationship and bond that is built in each session. I value working with individuals of all populations while creating a safe place for them to express themselves and learn positive coping strategies. I am so excited about this experience in which I will learn more about myself and others!
“I sometimes find, and I am sure you know the feeling, that I simply have too many thoughts and memories crammed into my mind.” -Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
